Provincial Nominee Program

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is an immigration program that allows Canada’s provinces to select immigrants destined to their province, using their own criteria based on their needs and requirements.

One important eligibility requirement under the Provincial Nominee Program is the applicant’s intention to reside in the province or territory where they are applying to.

There are two ways through which an applicant can be nominated.

  • through Base Nominations: by sending an Expression of Interest or EOI to a province or territory’s nominee or immigrant program
  • through Enhanced Nominations: by creating an Express Entry profile

Each province manages their own program so it is best to check your destination province’s immigration website for up-to-date information.
